It’s difficult to find a place in Barcelona that serves good coffee and good food. My favorite coffee places don’t do a lot of food and the other way around. After checking out new places in town last weekend, I think I found a place that does both: Somewhere Café.

Let’s start with the place. Easy to say, it looks great. From the outside and from the inside. I love that they used a lot of wood. It makes it more cosy and homy. But the space is still industrial with the high ceiling, a lot of grey. The back of the place is a bit too dark for my taste to drink a cup of coffee, but for a romantic lunch or dinner it’s perfect. I prefer the high chairs next to the window. Full of day light and close to the coffee machine. That’s where you will always find me.

Specialty coffee. They use coffee from Right Side. I like it. The coffee is consistent and interesting. In the end it’s the barista that makes it or breaks it. At Somewhere they make it. I visit Somewhere Café two days in a row. The first day I took a flat white with normal milk incl. a cute heart on top. The second day I took a cafe con leche (single shot) with oat milk. It’s always difficult to make a tasty coffee with this kind of milk, because it separate after a while. The coffee was well prepared and the temperature of the milk aswell. Plus cute flower on top. Next time I will try a filter coffee here.

Now it’s time for the foodies here. First of all the food is good! And there is a lot of choice. You may know now I like having a choice even if I’m bad in choosing. The first day I took a bite of the carrot cake my friend ordered. Really good fresh cake. The next day I tried the chia pudding. I love chia pudding and this was the best I ever had. Very fruity. My friend took the pancakes and they looked very good. Maybe I try those next time. The fresh juices are a keeper aswell!

At Somewhere Café you can come for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And brunch in the weekend. Next to good coffee they serve handcrafted beer and great wine. You can come here every moment of the day, and of the week!

If you’re looking for a cosy place with good service, specialty coffee and food, you know where to go now.
