With the knowledge of moving back to The Netherlands I am trying to enjoy Barcelona as much as possible and crossing off things from my to-do list, so I can leave the city with a good feeling.

I still have a huge list of coffee places that I wanna visit before leaving. Not only to try the coffee, make photos and videos, but aswell to say bye to all the amazing coffee lovers and meet new coffee lovers (I am also working on a list of all the specialty coffee places in Barcelona per neighborhood, but that will come soon!) I’ve started this week at La Esquina (Carrer de Bergara, 2). A friend of mine who I met while working at Costa Coffee is now a barista here and Monday was finally the day to catch up. La Esquina is not only a great place for coffee, but also for food. The coffee they are using comes from a roastery in León, San Agustín. It was nice to try something new in the city.

Tuesday was about SKYE Coffee. I wanted to visit this places, with the coolest van in town, for ages now. The thing was that the van was out for reparation and I needed a photo of the truck for my specialty coffee list of Poble Nou. But this week the van was back and so was I. It was great to see barista Shimon working here. He prepared me a super nice espresso from Colombia (San Luis) by Right Side.

On Wednesday I’ve prepared an aeropress at home with coffee from Nømad. A really nice natural Bolivia. In the afternoon I’ve been to a new coffee shop in Poble Nou, Little Fern. Such a cute place with coffee from Nømad. I’ve met with some ex-colleagues from Costa Coffee. It was super great to see them again and catch up just before leaving Barcelona. In the evening Primavera Sound was starting and this was a the free night, so I hang out for a while there.

Thursday was about saving energy for Primavera Sound, so I visit a new coffee place close to my house and next to the Sagrada Familia. Fargo is the name and I had a really good experience here. Totally worth to visit! Good to combine with visiting the famous church. And I could cross of some things from my to do list. After some chilling at home it was time for Primavera Sound. I was very excited and saw some really good performances. The only thing about Primavera is that it’s not really a crazy dancing festival and that’s why I only went one day. Artist I saw: Warpaint, The War on Drugs, Björk, Vince Staples, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Mariel Ito. To recover from the 2o km that I’ve walked the day before I hang out all afternoon at the beach. Which was a perfect way to recover. Had a cold brew with tonic at home before going to the beach. Couldn’t complain!

On Saturday I went to Bond Café to say hi to the owner Oriol and the new barista Camilla. She prepared a filter coffee with Sumatra coffee from All Press. In the afternoon I ended up at a free concert of Primavera Sound where I saw The Vibrowaves and Dope Calypso. Both super good! Sunday was a bit a lame day with rain and not much energy. I went to Hidden Café with my coffee friend Pear and enjoyed the rest of the day in my bed watching Netflix. A pretty good week if you ask me.
