If you ever go to Palma de Mallorca, you should visit La Molienda. Even before I knew I had to go to Mallorca, I already put this place on my to visit list. I was thinking that if I ever go to this beautiful island again I want to sip a coffee overthere. And so I did. Because of my job I had the opportunity to go. And it was worth the wait!
La Molienda is a small coffee place in the centre of Palma close to the university. On small cosy corner in the street Carrer del Bisbe Campins. Number 11 is where you need to be. After entering the place I felt directly home and comfortable. Check out the interior in the photo below. Isn’t is beautiful! You may know now that I am a big fan of minimalistic interior with cosy details like vintage furniture, plants and lights. That’s exactly what you get here!
Let’s go to the coffee part. I enjoyed a chemex. The coffee they are using at the moment is from the well-known Nømad from Barcelona. The filter they have at the moment is from Kenya and has a rich flavour of blueberries and blackcurrant. When I was at Retrogusto Coffeemates in Valencia I tried this new roast for the first time (check this out on my blog post about Valencia or in my first vlog). In Valencia I took a V60, so I wanted to try out a different way now. The barista recommended a chemex, because gives a cleaner cup of coffee. I realized I never tried a chemex before, so the desecion was made. I loved it!
Next to good coffee you can also enjoy some food. I didn’t try it this time, but it looked really delicious. I definitely will go back to La Molienda when I am in Palma and than I will try out some food here. Let’s hope I can go back soon.
When you are in Palma and you are tired of shopping, walking around in the beautiful street or just a bit hangover. Sit down and relax at La Molienda and experience the best coffee in Palma. Let me know if you ever visit this place!
