Same table, but in a different color and with a different book. One of my first blogposts on The Exploring Barista was writing coffee book reviews. I really like the idea to show you what I have on my coffee table, what I am reading and where I get my inspiration and knowledge from. Let me introduce you to Solo.
A whole weekend full of sipping coffee, coffee lovers, coffee professionals, coffee addicts and coffee newbies. That was were the Independent Barcelona Coffee Festival was all about. In the end I had so much material that I decided to make a special vlog about it and that’s what you can see now. I can only say, the coffee festival was a great success!
That Specialty Coffee is popping up everywhere is a fact. Even restaurants and hotels are starting to be interested in better quality coffee. And now the first shopping + Specialty Coffee experience in Barcelona is a fact. Meet H&M x Flax & Kale. Don’t forget your piggy bank, you will need it.
What else I love next to Specialty Coffee? And bicycles, and cakes. Plants! Yes, I’m a plant lover. They make me so happy. Plants can make a room more cosy and they give it a homey atmosphere. Espai Joliu mix it all up: plants and coffee. Trust me you feel like home here from the moment you step inside.
I love hanging around in the city. There is so much to see, so much to do. But sometimes I just need to escape from the crowded big city, a change of environment. When living, or just on holiday, in Barcelona that’s really easy. There is enough to explore outside the city. In less than one hour by train you can be in Sitges for example. Where you can also have a cup of Specialty Coffee!
As you might know now, I am Dutch. In heart and soul. It goes through my vains, it’s in my blood. No doubt about it. And what else do Dutch people like except for cheese and a big cup of black coffee? Yes, bicycles. I love my bike and I can’t live without it, but I have been a bit lazy lately. Now the weather is getting better it’s me and my bike again.
It was oh so high on my bucketlist. New York! Explore The Big Apple’s coffee culture or
maybe I should call it The Big Cups from now on, because big cups they like!
Breakfast! Who doesn’t love it? For me it’s the best moment of the day. The perfect breakfast has it all. A cup of coffee to wake me up, good yummy-for-my-tummy food and a juice for a vitamin boost. If you tell me there is a food truck event based on breakfast, you don’t have to ask me twice to come over. Thanks Eat Street for fulfilling my dream.
I still can’t believe it, but I was interviewed last summer by Essence of Coffee. As an early Christmas present, it got published last week. I am excited and grateful. My passion for coffee and my job, Barista and Trainer at Nømad Coffee, is so big and I am happy to share this passion. Like I always tell people “my blood type is coffee”. The interview was in Spanish, so is the article. To make it easier to read I’ve translated it for you, so no Google Translate needed!
Howdy, it’s time for a coffee break. And not the type of coffee break that you think, like having a coffee with a biscuit on the side. No, I need a break from coffee. I hear you thinking: Uh what? Let me explain.
